Wow nice image. I think a journey can continue as long as you want it to last. It's all about whether you have the energy and vigor to continue traveling for a long time. By journey, I obviously mean journeys in life, not just physically roaming different places in the world, although. As long as you are open to changes in life, it will continue on its own and you will learn from it.
I believe a journey is never truly over. When you go on a journey your looking for answers to whatever question it is that you want answered. Even once you find what you think is your answer there is always more. Either what your searching for changes, the answer isn't the answer you wanted so you continue, or there is no answer. In any case I believe journey's are endless. A person can say their journey is over but they will never completely stop thinking about it in its entirety or in some relevance.
